IAF says it's holding back more evidence of F-16 kill

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IANS): The Indian Air Force (IAF) said on Monday it has more credible information and evidence to prove that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) had lost an F-16 in air battle over Line of Control (LoC) on February 27 apart from electronic intercepts, radio transcripts and sightings from ground posts but was withholding them due to confidentialty and security concerns.

Holding a second briefing in two days, IAF's assistant chief of staff Operstions (space) R.G.K. Kapoor said that multiple evidences show that two aircraft went down on February 27 a day after IAF carried out air strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) camp in Pakistan's Balakot.

Air vice marshal Kapoor said that radar images showed that an F-16 crashed and fell across the LoC in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir after being shot by Mig 21 Bison flown by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman who also took a hit and got captured after the dogfight.

He said that two Army posts in the Jhangar sector under Nowshera brigade saw two separate parachutes, the first on the western side in general area Sabz Kot and the second on the southwest in general area Tandar. The two locations are around 8-10 km apart.

The parachute that fell in Sabz Kot was of the PAF pilot while Abhinandan fell in Tandar.

These facts are corroborated by Pakistan army's propaganda wing director general Inter Service Public Relation (DGISPR) who first acknowledged that two pilots were captured but later retracted that only one Indian pilot was in custody.

The radar images and intercepts also corroborated the facts, said IAF emphasising that it had more proof, but it not being shared due to security concerns.

The IAF had briefed the media on Friday giving details of the air engagement after a report appeared in Foreign Policy claiming none of the PAF F-16 was found missing following a count by the US official.

The report itself has been contradicted as the US defence department said it was not aware about any count of the PAF F-16 fleet.

The IAF had kept silent over the entire issue, but has opened up now with two media briefings emphasising that it had shot down a PAF F-16.

Its ok not to trust the govt on this because their agenda is clear in this entire episode- derive maximum political mileage out of this episode.
But whatever limited information that has been put out by the IAF, has to be trusted because they are our actual and selfless protectors, their word should be good enough for any Indian citizen should be enough to believe . The radar tracks are proof enough for anyone to believe that the F-16 was downed. Just because the Pakistani fools do not believe and want to hide their F-16 loss, that does not mean the IAF should talk about or display their classified capabilities just to prove it. India's stand over the air skirmish has been consistent - one MiG-21 lost and one PAF F-16 shot down. Its Pakistan's stand that has been wavering almost every single day.
Remember Pakistan's existence is based on a lie and they have been shamelessly lying to their citizens about the losses they suffered in all the wars they fought with India. Knowing all this, whose version should any patriotic Indian believe? The IAF's or Pakistanis? The doubters will have all their answers in the last sentence!!!

F-16 is American made Fighter jet and it will work and US collects it data. As long as Pakistan get support from USA & China it is difficult to fight and win with Pakistan or China supported country. Our national leaders are faking. We have brave solders but poor French & Russian made fighter jets and war hardware. We should look for peace not war

In most of the world post, the operational briefing is usually held by an official press conference with a short questionnaire.
Only in PM Modi's India, after every surgical strike newsroom commander from media gives the first-hand report.
After 'Surgical strike' Pakistan took a helicopter tour to the areas which India claimed hit deep in Pakistani territory. In Balakot also, they have registered a complaint to the United Nation for destroying nature bombing pine trees.
In this modern world of navigation, one can easily compare the pre and post pictures. If there is substantial evidence then it should have conveyed in an official press briefing not paid media channels.
If India shot F-16 or not, the absence of 'Rafale Jet' to replace MIG proved India costlier.

What about our Satellites ? Was it not possible for our satellites to capture the crash site considering that tension was mounting since 14 Feb and any Govt would have focussed its satellites towards area of concerns.

Suprising that US which has captured the debris after our anti satellite kill is mum on this issue of the F-16.

Why did IAF hold back information about Balakot attack from the time it took place ? Why did it say that its Defense Ministry's job to give any information related to the attack ? Why did Officer Abhimanyu, after returning from Pak, go underground ? Why was he not allowed to talk to the press ?

Why Pak had get the US count its F-16 air-crafts count and tell the world that all the units are intact, none mission ?

Nevertheless, why is IAF is saying now that its holding back more evidence of F-16 kill ? Whats wrong is with Modi ? Why is he making IAF a butt of jokes ?

Have you seen the supposed Pakistani pilot who show down W/C Abhinandan giving interviews or holding press conferences in Pakistan? He should have been celebrated as a hero in Pakistan, but have they put him up for public display? These people are professional soldiers and pilots. Holding press conferences is not their job.
