Udupi, Mar 13: Temples serve as a link to ancient religious practices and help in determining the future course, said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. 

Dr Heggade was speaking at ‘Sudharma’, a religious meet, held at Sri Vishwanath Temple, Yellur, on Thursday March 12, on the occasion of the Brahmakalashotsav. 

“Our faith in God is stronger and this sustains peace and happiness. The devotees’ discipline at Sri Vishwanath Temple, Yellur, is commendable.  We have His Grace in all our trials and tribulations”, said Dr Heggade.  He also appreciated the sculptures at the temple here that have been existence for over a century.   

Hemavati Heggade, speaking on the occasion, said that the reconstruction of the Yellur temple had proved a choice of divinity despite the global downturn. 





























Non-resident Indian Shekar B Shetty Kalattoor, Maharashtra medical minister Yellurguttu Suresh Shetty, and entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj, also spoke on the occasion. 

Bangalore Samskar Bharati Pratisthan chairman Yerya Laxminarayan Alva delivered a special lecture on the occasion.   

Dr Heggade felicitated the donors who contributed to the reconstruction of the temple including Kutyar Prasad Shetty and Arunakar Shetty. 

Yellur Sri Vishwanath temple managing trustee Y Prafulla Shetty, temple reconstruction committee president Nadimane Mohan Rao, Chandrashekar Shetty, Ravindra Aras, and Mumbai committee secretary Praveen B Shetty, were present on the dais. 

K L Kundantaya welcomed the gathering.  Reconstruction committee secretary Kutyar Prasad Shetty presented the report and outlined future plans.  K S Sridarmurti and Prakash Shenoy compered the programme.  Vedamurti Kenja Sridar Tantri proposed the vote of thanks.
