Mangaluru Apr 10: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel does not have a face of his own and is asking votes wearing the mask of Modi, said Former minister Ramanath Rai.

Addressing media here on Wednesday, April 10, Ramanath Rai said, “BJP themselves are claiming that Nalin Kumar Kateel is an incompetent MP and now are asking votes in the name of Modi. I want to ask, what is Modi’s contribution for this district? When Congress leaders were MP, footsteps of development can be seen in the district but there is no contribution from BJP to the district.”

"Everyone chants Modi Modi, none of them are ready to say the contributions of Modi to the district. Vijaya Bank merger issue they blame Congress for this. It is important to note that when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister, Nalin Kumar Kateel was the MP of the district. As an opposition he had the right stop the bank merger issue, but he never raised his voice,” said Ramanath Rai.

"The promises made by Congress in the manifesto were fulfilled, but BJP never fulfilled the promises made in their manifesto. We have brought in Mahatma Gandhi Udyog Khatri scheme, RTI act, RTE act, Food Security Bill and also waived farmer’s loan up to Rs 72,000 crore. On the other hand BJP has waived loans of industrialists and businessmen,” he said.

“Congress has not done injustice to the poor. Large number of poor got benefitted by the schemes introduced by Congress. Modi rightly said that he is chowkidaar. Modi is chowkidaar of Ambani, Adani, rich men as poor people do not need chowkidaars. People have given one opportunity to Modi and now people should give opportunity to Rahul Gandhi to witness his administration,” said Ramanath Rai.

District-in-charge minister U T Khader, MLC Harish Kumar, JD(S) leaders Sushil Noronha and others were present.

Just think If an uneducated person is selected
    i) he can't plan the development as he can't communicate with other language
ii)Just parrots what other people say,& threatens instead of problem solving
iii)Can't plan a strategy/know system to guide people

I have been discussing with so many people around D.K and trying to understand mindset of voters be it young, mid aged or senior citizens all have a common answer. They say that they haven't seen the progress of this district compared to other progressive district, but they again would vote for Modi. Is Modi contesting here or Kateel for which they are left as mute spectators.

As an educated citizens of this district if we are not able to send out qualified MP we would make a mockery of democracy and we would kill this district on our own hand. The way the Mangalore has the potential to improve or develop is been underutilized reason is religious bias called for political benifit made any international company fear enter Mangalore.

At least let the next generation get the benefit of having D.K called as progressive district by removing the tag of religious sensitive district. Let us vote for the right candidate who can win on his name and caliber rather than some XYZ name and XYZ caliber who does not belong to D.K or contesting election here.

Leaders and not born but created by people , let us bring out right leader for our district by voting for people mentioned in voting machine rather than for XYZ person who is not contesting the election here in D.K

    Jai Mangalore...

Mockery of democracy is when you distinguish people as educated and uneducated. Indian democracy has given rights to both educated and uneducated to participate in political process. Let us not create an elite class called educated class!

Problem of Mangalore is not its leaders, the primary reason for mlore not developed as it should have been is because of the communal unrest which is quite often.. And no big companies are ready to invest in Mlore. If communal unrest is put to rest everything will fall in place by itself.
