Mangalore: Real Cops Ensure Escape for Lovers from Moral Police

Mangalore, Mar.16: A lover couple that had been to a movie in a cinema hall here could enact a great escape from the vigilant eyes of the moral police, when the real police came on the scene at the Central talkies in city on Monday, March 16.
Moral policemen from Sri Rama Sene had planned to 'question’ the couple that had been to watch the movie in the above movie hall located near Hampanakatta.
Sene members believed the couple to be belonging to different religions. But the policemen clarified, that both of them were Hindus.
It is believed that someone who watched the lovers inside the theatre passed on the information to Sri Rama Sene activists. The Sene members were waiting outside the theatre premises, for the show to end so that they could interrogate the couple concerned once they come out of the hall.
But the Mangalore North police inspector Umesh Shet, who deputed constables inside the theatre, ensured that the two were safely taken to the police station, to stop any unsavoury incidents from happening, thus nipping in the bud a brewing trouble..
The couple could stage an escape from the ire of the Sri Rama Sene or action by them, because of the intervention of the policemen. Police inspector Umesh Shet said, the policemen got information about the above incident and thereafter, steps were taken to control the situation.
The couple was from a technical training institute from the city. They had been to Central talkies to watch the recently released Kannada comedy movie 'Venkata in Sankata’
