Mangalore: ‘Kunjali MBBS’ Beary Play Staged at Kalaangann

Mangalore, Mar 16: Beary’s Melodies of Mangalore staged ‘Kunjali MBBS’, a play in Beary language, at Kalaangann on Monday March 16, on the penultimate day of ‘Ranga Sauharda’.

This six-day festival of dramas aimed at establishing harmony in the city began on Thursday March 12.

Abdul Rehman, president, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy, was the chief guest of the function.  “Working for Beary language and literature is the priority”, he said in his speech. 






























He thanked Eric Ozario, former president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, who through staging of street plays and other events, pressurized the government to institute a Beary Academy in the state.

Ozario, whos is the Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, welcomed the gathering. Arun Raj, and Ismail Vamanjoor, director of the drama, were present on the dais.

Stany Alvares compered the programme.

In the meantime, Kodava play `Mott' which is scheduled to be staged on Tuesday March 17 has been cancelled as per the information received from the Organisers.  Instead, there will be a entertainment programme in Kodava language it is learnt.

    Its a good move from Mannd Sobhann for all the communities to perform in kalaangan so this would bond good relations with other communities
