Mangalore: `Ranga Souharda' - Festival of Dramas Concludes at Kalaangann

Mangalore, Mar 18: As the sixth and final play in the six-day drama festival organized by Mandd Sobhann with the purpose of establishing harmony in our beloved motherland got cancelled, the organizers opted to present a traditional Kodava dance performance and singing programme on Tuesday, March 17 at Kalaangann.























Valley Dew Cultural Association, Kodagu presented some tradiitional Kodagu dances and songs namely Bolkat, Katti-att and Kolat on the occasion.

C G Kokkilera Thammayya, past president, Kodava Samaja, Mangalore was the chief guest.  Manu Muddappa, president, Valley Dew Cultural Association, Kodagu, Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann and Ronie Crasta, secretary, Mandd Sobhann were present on the dais. Titus Noronha compered the programme.

Shristi Kodagu Ranga, Ponnampet were scheduled to stage `Mott' - a Kodava play on the last day of the festival of dramas.

    Thanks to Daijiworld for the complete report of 6 days Drama festival with pictures. Bab Eric and troupe are doing wonderful work to keep alive the tradition of stage shows and other cultural activities. Hope people of Mangalore & around are taking full advantage of these programmes by witnessing and by acting. Hope we too might get to see some cultural programmes when we will be there on our vacation. Keep it up Kalangan.
