Hebri: Explosion at illegal stone quarry claims man's life

Hebri, Apr 23: A man died in a stone quarry here on Monday April 22 after an explosive being used for quarrying went off accidentally. The incident came to light on Tuesday April 23.

The deceased has been identified as Purusha Naik.

It is learnt that Naik was running an illegal stone quarry at on a government land at Muddur here.

On Monday evening, he used certain explosive material in the quarry. Sources said that careless on Naik's part resulted in the accidental explosion, which killed him instantaneously.

Hebri police arrived at the spot.

On investigation, it was revealed that a person named Eknath Bolar had supplied him the explosive material.

A case has been registered against both Naik and Eknath Bolar under Explosives Act.
