Internet, landline, TV packages: GigaFiber offer for just Rs 600

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 24: After revolutionising mobile data service by offering it at the cheapest prices in the world, Mukesh Ambani-owned Jio is all set to offer another ground-breaking mega offer for users all over India, in the form of 'GigaFiber' which will provide high-speed broadband internet, unlimited free landline phone and all major TV channel packages, all for just Rs 600 per month.

This could be a huge game-changer in not only broadband market, but also in cable network business. The dominance of GigaFiber could cost traditional cable TV operators heavily in the coming days.

Reliance Jio is currently pilot-testing GigaFiber in New Delhi and Mumbai, providing 100 gigabytes (GB) of data at 100 megabytes per second (mbps) for free, except for a one-time deposite of Rs 4,500 for a router.

It may be recalled that Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced Reliance Jio broadband service last year. The GigaFiber will be the largest greenfield fixed-line broadband rolled globally, with introduction in 1,100 cities across India, including Mangaluru.

The GigaFiber offer includes:

- 100 gigabytes (GB) of data at 100 megabytes per second (mbps) for free.

- Telephone and television services will be added in the next three months.

- The three services will remain free for a year

Reliance Jio GigaFiber will also offer an option to connect to 40 devices to its smart home network for a price of up to Rs 1,000.

With this offer, now competitors like BSNL, Airtel and other players are expected to bring more exciting offers to the internet and TV viewers because the delivery of TV channels to homes is expected to evolve through GigaFiber internet instead of traditional set-top boxes.

Registrations for Jio GigaFiber had opened in August last year. Those who are interested can visit: gigafiber.jio.com/registration for registration.

Jio Gigafiber is announced in August 2017 with much fun fare. But still not launched in the market. Now and then they float some news to remain in lime light and fool the people. Remember they they announced TV cable with Jio phone to watch mobile video in your TV. But TV cable not seen the light even today. Reliance is not reliable.

One more blow to conpetitors from JIO and market disturbance/destruction for sure.... This time via GigaFiber. Competitors will be chewed out.

Very high speed Internet + Unlimited Land Line calls + Major TV channels all for just Rs. 600 per month? Cool offer compared to others who are charging more than double the price as of now... Of course the price mentioned is GST excluded.

This is why Mr.Modi demoralized Govt companies and gave all this to Ambani. BSNL is suffering badly.

And what BJP is doing on daily basis and new tactics is based out of intelligence, they get well ahead by peoples behavior and data shared to BJP by Ambani's.

Public jumps in joy and happy for 200-600 rupees, but the same media has already used to secure BJPs seats well ahead by applying early intelligence from crowds mood and behaviour.

If it was other companies the possibility of sharing data is very minute..

With JIO India's whole data and citizens behaviour and mindset is known well ahead.... And all this msgs also if you are using JIO now.. 😂😂

This is called BIG DATA ANALYSIS. The current hot job market along with Artificial Intelligence and Security.

Congrats to Ambani who gave us these packages.

It would be nice to see similar competition in Banks, Airlines, Trains, Bus and public services, Retail marketing, where consumers will benefit the most.

Here too Google has introduced Giga Fiber & there is opposition from some quarters. It's not expanding as expected. Giga Fiber can bring high speed reliable internet at reasonable price. It's going to be tough competition for existing companies.
Here Google products are main target of hacker's who do not want people to get good quality products at reasonable price. They mainly target Google ecosystem & trouble by modifying address book, resetting Google home, changing configuration of smartphone & smart TV.

Here cellphone connectivity outside main cities is very poor & the companies charge very high, but the service is not so good. All companies charge high but only one company (not Google) provides somewhat reliable network. Now Google has brought Pixel branded phones which are as same quality as iPhone. Pixel works on 2 cellular networks at the same time. Google has created a network called "Project Fi" for this purpose & they they have excellent base plan unlike others who charge exorbitant rates.
