Bengaluru, Apr 26: A 17-year-old girl fell down from the 9th floor and died while having her morning walk.

Priyanka Paul from Surya Nagar in city is the person deceased.

As per information available, Priyanka stumbled upon a water pipeline and fell to her death from the terrace of her nine-storey apartment on the morning of April 24.

Priyanka was a second PU student of the St Francis De Sales PU College in Hebbagodi. She was living with her parents on the third floor of the Ashwini Sitara Apartment in Ramakrishnapura in city. The incident happened around 8.40 am.

Priyanka regularly took morning walks on the terrace on the 9th floor. The apartment's terrace had numerous water pipelines laid for each and every house beneath.

Police suspect Priyanka would have stumbled on one of the pipelines, lost her balance and fell from the terrace. Security guards heard a thud and rushed to the place and saw Priyanka lying in a pool of blood. She was soon rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

Priyanka's father said that the family did not suspect any foul play or suicide as she was absolutely normal. Police analysed CCTV footage as also.

A case of unnatural death was registered by the Surya Nagar police.

Very sad .A young girl full life ahead ,lost her life because of carelessness of house owner ,neglectd the importance of safety. He should be asked and pay for not installing pipes properly.I dont understand second thing ,when she stumbled over pipes ,how can she fall down ?were there no protecting sidewalls around? Were they not high enough?I cant imagine it?was it a flat terrasse?with no walls around.?Poor girl.may her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.I think thourough investigation is need of the hour here.Afterall she was not a small child.

if not on terrace, where they will lay pipes. Terrace should have a parapet wall. if not, access to the terrace should be locked.

Rest in peace. But the innocent lost her life because of negligence of builder and building management. If the terrace dont have proper walls then they should not allow people to go on terrace. Also cctv should be installed in places like staircase garden terrace lift etc.
