Mangalore, Mar 29: Scholarships were distributed to more than 500 students at the educational scholarship meet organized by the Beary’s Cultural Forum (BCF), Dubai, at Loyola Hall on Sunday March 29.

Yenapoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor, Yenepoya University, inaugurated the meet and said that the forum is doing a great job in helping students of the Beary community pursue their education.

Dr B K Yosuf, president of BCF, who presided over the function said, “The forum has been constituted to help the students who are in need of financial support. The idea behind the scholarship is to motivate the students to get further education and no one should be held back for a lack of financial support to pursue an education”.

Dr Kaup Mohammed, secretary, BCF, gave the keynote address and said, “The students have to get quality education and cent percent results. Recession in the world has increased the importance of hard work and eight hour shifts have become 12-hour shifts now. So, efficiency and knowledge only counts.”

He advised the students to work hard and put in maximum efforts to attain their goals.

The guest distributed scholarships to six of the 500 students during the event.

An excellent piece of service from BCF. A model for others to follow. I congratulate all the office bearers of BCF , including Dr Yusuf , ME Muloor, Dr Kaup, AR Beary , KS Shekabba and others, who have toiled hard, day and night, to make this program a success. The message BCF is sending out to the masses is very clear – education is the only way to uplift any community. If every community without any religious bias, emulates BCF and gets involved in promoting education among their community members, I feel that it will be the best community service one can render to the society. Arranging scholarships to 500 students and organizing the massive event in a professional way is really commendable. I wish all the best for all the future endeavors of BCF. Also, the nobility of the sponsors who supported this noble cause is definitely praise worthy. One thought after seeing the snaps of the program, wasn’t it a good idea to accommodate Mudarris Abdul Razak of Kannangar who spoke on the occasion, in the dais? Thanks Daijii for your excellent coverage.

Dear Mr. George Cruz, USA Appreciate your comments. But kindly note that the first word revealed to Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) is IQRA which means READ. Read is for both for men and women. Now you can understand how the religion of islam gives importance to the education. Education is compulsory in Islam, and therefore we dont have to comment as education first and religion next. Education is part of the religion. Religion being the way of life is very very important.

Good effort by Dubai BCF (Beary's Cultural Forum supporting the education and we appreciate the organizers. Kindly note that there are so many think tanks in Beary community who are financially rich and educated. My we request these brothers to to start some quality educational institutions in Mangalore/D.K. having syllabus in ISLAMIC as well as SECULAR subjects?, because it is highly important that when our students come out from the institutions they should be well qualified with Secular as well as Islamic subjects. Islamic subjects make the students morally quite neat and well desciplined which will help them to build healthy socities with peace and harmony. God fearing and the quality of accountability is to be nurtured/cultivated among our students. Thanks to BCF and thanks to daijiworld. We expect more accomplishments from BCF in the future. May Allah reward your efforts.

It is good to see Muslim women getting scholarships and participating in educational programms in Dubai. Why the same thing is not happening in India ??The Muslim women in India should also take a bold step (they should put education first and relegion next) and participate/compete in educational programms (larger number than current)in India.
