Udupi: Roshan Mascarenhas conferred with 'Young Scientist' Award

Udupi, Apr 6: Roshan Mascarenhas, senior research fellow of Manipal Life Sciences, has been selected for being conferred with the prestigious 'Young Scientist' award being given in the memory of Dr Ranbaksh.
Roshan has been chosen for this award for the essay he presnted at a seminar on 'Ethics, culture and population genomics' organized at New Delhi recently by The Indian society of Human Genetics in association with Anthropological Survey of India and Indira Gandhi National Centre for The Arts. The said programme was held as part of the 34th annual conference of the said Society.
At the said seminar, Mascarenhas had presented his essay titled, "Cytogenetic and molecular evaluation of bilateral childhood cateract'.
Mascarenhas has been conducting research on the subject, 'Molecular Genetics of Ocular Disorders', under the guidance of Dr K Satyamurty and Prof P M Gopinath. The Indian Society of Human Genetics has been giving away awards every year to encourage young and talented scientists.
