Mangaluru, May 9: Police commissioner Sandeep Patil, who had warned the trucks transporting fish of spilling water emanating bad odour in the city, has swung into swift action and implemented the rule immediately.
As a result of the quick action, police have confiscated six vehicles transporting fish that did not abide by the rules, on the morning of Thursday, May 9.
The police department had served notice on May 6 to all the trucks and tempos transporting fish prohibiting them from spilling the water from the vehicles onto the road citing the order sent by National Green Tribunal (NGT) in the year 2015. This action comes right after serving the notice.
The police commissioner has tweeted about the confiscation of vehicles on his twitter account.
