Abu Dhabi Indian Embassy in UAE urges expats to report salary delay

Abu Dhabi, May 9 (IANS): The Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has urged Indian expats to report any delay in payment of salary by their employers, the media reported on Thursday.

In a public notice on Wednesday which was shared on Twitter, it urged Indians to report to any such instance to the Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai, the Khaleej Times reported.

Amid growing cases of duping and visa frauds, the Embassy also cautioned Indian jobseekers in the UAE not to come on visitor visas.

The jobseekers must authenticate their employment offers and permits before arriving in the country, it added.

The Embassy also shared videos of Indians who fell victim to fraudulent recruitment agents.

According to information from the Embassy's Twitter handle, Vikram Kumar from Pali, Rajasthan, was duped by an illegal agent from Mumbai.

Good gesture by Indian Embassy in UAE. I hope expats will take advantage of this. I am sure there are many who must be going through this issue but are scared of deportation and other matters. Also the Indian government should thoroughly check their visas and documents before they leave the country. The problem will be solved and there will be less headache for the Embassies and the consulates.

    This is Called Good Governance,

Earlier Nobody was there to take care of these issues, no matter how people hate Modi even the NRIs.

    SP Shetty,

Helping Indians is not happening just since 2014. Were you around when the Gulf War broke out ? Are you aware that India sent chartered flights to bring back Indians caught up in the war zone ?

Moreover, how many times have you availed Consular services during your stay in UAE ? Have you noted that every service given to you comes with additional cost that is reserved to use for needs like rescue operations ?

You get better service now because of NRI voting ? Consular services are out sourced in many countries and now we are getting better services. Besides, the new technology also helps a lot to keep a track of complaints. Thanks to Rajiv Gandhi who led the nation towards digital age. Now anyone becomes PM, the consular services will remain the same. Nothing to do with Modi.
