Mangalore: Preediv Art Gallery to Open Doors on Apr 12

Mangalore, Apr 11: The newly set up Preediv Art Gallery in Bejai, which is owned by promising artist Preetam Fernandes, will be inaugurated on Sunday April 12.
Moodbidri Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva will inaugurate the Gallery at 4.00 pm.
State Bank of India (SBI) Bangalore regional manager Giridhar Kini and Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) former president Capt John Prasad Menezes, will be the guests of honour on the occasion.
Veteran artists N S Pattar, Kandan G, Girish Kulkarni, Santhosh Andani, Permude Mohan Kumar, Santhosh Andrade, Taranath, Basavaraj Kutni, Suresh K P, Syed Asif Ali, Ravi M R, Vishwas, Paramesh, and Umesh will also attend the inaugural ceremony.
The inaugural exhibition cum sale of art works will remain open to the general public from Monday April 13 to Wednesday April 22 from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.
The gallery will collect, store, preserve, and exhibit both local and foreign works of art and bring together artists from all around the world. It will constantly strive to increase the quantity and uplift the quality of art works and promote the appreciation of art among the public.
It also aims at being a meeting place for the promotion of artistic ideas and for seeking young talent. By conducting several exhibitions, seminars, camps, competitions and demonstrations, the gallery will promote and develop an ‘aesthetic art essence’ in the community.
The inaugural exhibition will shortly be followed by an exhibition on ‘Landscapes’ which will showcase the vibrant colours of our Mother Nature.
About Preetam Fernandes:
Born in a banker’s family, he is already an accomplished artist at. He is known for his varied talents including singing, acting, painting, and restoration of murals. Preetam has also conducted solo and group art exhibition across the state and is the recipient of several awards from prestigious institutions in the country and abroad.
