Bantwal: Miscreants pelt stones, damage Punacha church grotto

Bantwal, May 18: Miscreants have pelted stones at the grotto of Christ the King Church at Punacha Manela in the taluk. The incident came to light on Saturday May 18.

The miscreants damaged the statue and the glass covering the grotto.

The church is located by the side of Punacha - Thoranakatte road.

 

On the basis of a complaint filed by the church authorities, a case stands registered in Vittal police station relating to this incident. The police have begun investigation.

    My heart goes out to my Christian friends. I hope the culprit is caught soon and punished.
    It good to see that condemnation is coming from all sources and with each and every one involved. However I feel its selective. Here its hoping that its a certain community and a party. This sort of attitude and anger was not shown when Churches were attacked by Terrorists in Slanka that killed 350 Christian bretheren.

    B.J.Kaimal mangalore,thank you for your concern and support.But I would say we cant say which community person it was.At the same time we cant also rule out ,that the person might be also from our own one.There are always some black sheeps among us.Previously too some such attackes were done elsewhere to put the name on others.whoever it is hope he will thinkover this once again and repent and dont indulge again.Hope he will admit s it.One shouldnt play with religious faiths and adoring places.It hurts .

    You have quoted 1 commandment out of 10, why don't people belonging to a particular community obey them all like-
    You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
    You must not commit murder.
    Interpretation of the commandment quoted by you have contradictions in the same Bible you are ignorant?

    Why we always looking the communal issues in negative way. As per last picture, Grotto is beside road itself. By mistake stone was hits to glass. Like stone was in road, when edge of tire hits to stone, then there is chance of stone flies on air around 10-20 meter & hits to glass. Better put metal grills to road side Gortto's in order to avoid such incidents.

    Very sad incident. Miscreants only wants to create disturbances.
    We should always find ways and means to defeat evil doers motives.
    One of the ways to defeat their ulterior designs is avoid errecting statues or grotto, where there is no church or worshippers.
    We are not statue worshippers. We are worshipping living God. Statues and images are mainly used educate, visualise and help believers to recollect the works of noble souls.
