Mangalore: Eight Couples Enter Wedlock in Mass Marriage Ceremony

Mangalore, Apr 19: Eight couples entered into wedlock in a mass marriage ceremony arranged by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) and Bajrang Dal along with the Maruthi Seva Samiti in Attavar on Saturday April 18.
The programme was arranged at Attavar Katte and before the event a procession from Chakrapani temple was also arranged.
The couples were from Sajipa in Bantwal taluk, Panjimogaru, and Akasha Bhavan in the city as well as those from Gadag, Bagalakot, and Chikmagalur.
Besides meeting the expenses of the marriage, the organizers distributed clothes and ‘mangalasutras’ to the couples.
Sri Rajashekarananda Swami from Vajradehi Math, Gurupur, said that marriage is a special occasion in life as it happens only once in a lifetime. He added that hence, one’s wedding day is a step to a good life.
A ‘Satyanarayana Pooja’ was also arranged along with the marriage ceremony. MLA Yogish Bhat, mayor Shankar Bhat, VHP leader M B Puranik, and Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, were also present.
