Udupi: First Annual Jatra at Renovated Yellur Temple Draws Numerous Devotees

Udupi, Apr 20: The annual ‘Jatra’ of Sri Vishwanath Temple, Yellur, near here, was held with religious fervour on Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19.
It was the first annual celebration since the Bramakalashotav held recently at the renovated temple. Thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad attended the annual Jatra.
Free food was provided for all devotees at the temple for many days and various religious rituals including special ‘pujas’ were also held on the occasion.
Temple priest Padoor Laxminarayan Tantri, Bettige Gururaj Tantri, managing trustee Y Prafulla Shetty, trustees K L Kundantaya, Kenja Sridar Tantri, Arunakar Shetty, Kutyar Prasad Shetty, Krishnamurti Bhat Kalattoor, Dr Vishwanath Rao, K Ramesh Rao and temple representatives of nine neighbouring villages were present on the occasion.
The office-bearers of the temple reconstruction committees at Mumbai and Bangalore were also present.
