Bengaluru to Mysuru now only in 55 minutes thanks to Alliance Air

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (SR)

Bengaluru, May 29: In a great relief to frequent travelers between Mysuru and Bengaluru, Alliance Air, an Air India subsidiary that operates domestic routes as per the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik -UDAN, has decided to commence operations of Bengaluru-Mysuru flight service from June 7.

Travelling by road between Mysuru and Bengaluru is arduous and time-consuming because of the highway-widening work that is going on. It takes almost 3.5 hours by road and the fastest train (12007 MGR Chennai Central -Mysuru Shatabdi Express) takes 2 hours time. An alternative route between the two cities via Kanakapura and Malavalli has been a strongly felt necessity among frequent commuters.

Flight AI 9539, with special economy seats costing Rs 1,365 and super value economy class at Rs 1, 589, will operate five days a week. Air India officials declared that Alliance Air’s ATR-72 which has a seating capacity of 70 will provide service on the route except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Confirming the flag off of the service Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha tweeted ““Will flag off the Bengaluru-Mysuru flight on June 7th. Thank u @narendramodi ji and @jayantsinha ji.”

The flight is scheduled to take off from Bengaluru at 10.30 am and will land at the Mysuru airport at 11.25 am and on its return journey (AI 9540) will depart from Mysuru at 12 noon and will land in Bengaluru at 1 pm.

In the UDAN Scheme, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has also granted new flight routes that will operate from Bengaluru to Gwalior, Jamnagar, Agra, Thanjavur, and Kalaburagi. The same scheme has announced Mysuru flights to Goa, Hyderabad, Belagavi and Kochi apart from the new flight to the state capital.

It would be really interesting to see how many trips this flight will make and how many passengers will take it before it is finally stopped, which is obvious even to an illiterate.

All chaddiless r complain I g about travel time from city to airport. Then wt about train? To reach railway station or bus stand it takes almost 2 hrs from ltl far away places. People in and around air port like he bal, doddaballapura, Hennur can reach within 35 mnts to airport. Try to appreciate the new facility given.
Regarding any bad experience all chaddiless blame MODI then the credit for good things should go to MODI and concerned ministry.
Even for failure of State Administration chaddiless blame MODI

    Rathan,

You are partially right, but still people will prefer other means of transport like pick up taxi from Bangalore home and drop to particular destination at Mysore and it will take around three hours.

Travelling in flight from Bangalore to Mysore will not be economical.

Connectivity of Mangalore to Mysore flights is good.

You have to leave your home at least 3 hours before the flight ( 2 hours to reach the airport and 1 hour before the flight). It is better to have an expressway between Bangalore and Mysore which will make travel between these twin cities faster.
Maybe you can explore connectivity between Mysore and other cities like Mangalore, Goa, Hubli, Belgaum, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Cochin etc. That would make better sense.

Thank you because Alliance Air operates this route ? What role do these two gentlemen have in crumbling Jet Airways then ? Why its all Naresh Goel solely responsible ?

    Ivar,

Whether BJP got 300+ or 400+, India is a democracy, is not under the dictatorship of BJP or Modi. All Indians, irrespective of the political party they favrou, are taxpayers. My taxes add to yours to pay the salary of the PM and his party ministers.

Please remember this next time when you feel like taunting on the basis of party win/loss. We are the educated lot and abiding by the law, not 'anghuttha chhaap' whom you can threaten with the strength of your party.

Ivar, Mangalore, needs education on political goondaism and development. Watch brainless people saying they are ready to chop off Mithun Rai's head, not just his hands and feet because they won. Can you imagine what will India look like if party that gets majority seats sings this song and resorts to violence with impunity?

If one is talking in terms of saving time, this does not suit any purpose. It requires a minimum 3 hours and 30 minutes from the time you start from your house in Bangalore city to reach Mysore by air. Nothing less than that. Perhaps this is only going to serve the politicians as they can travel in style and not with the others who they consider 'common people.' I don't see any other benefit as far as saving time is concerned.

Useless service. Travel time to Bangalore airport is 2 to 3 hours and Mysore airport is 10km i.e 30 mins away from the city.

Best option is to take fastest train that reaches in two hours.

Good point Joel, it is said that it takes 3.5 hours by road or two hrs by train. Obviously air travel will cost much much more than road/rail transport. Who will fly Bangalore-Mysore ?

Mallya's Kingfisher Airlines was the first to introduce Bangalore - Mysore flight but later cancelled for obvious reasons. I think same fate awaits this Alliance Air.
