Panaji, Apr 25:  The Election Commission (EC) has ordered re-polling at a booth in North Goa Parliamentary constituency following a technical error in the electronic voting machine (EVM).

"The re-polling in booth number 18 of North Goa Parliamentary constituency will be held on April 27 between 7 am and 5 pm," officials in Goa`s Chief Electoral Office said today.

The EVM used in the booth, which has 810 voters, developed a technical error due to which data from the machine could not be retrieved, they said.

The booth is part of the Sankhalim Assembly segment.   The polling for two Lok Sabha seats in the state, North and South Goa yesterday recorded 54.73 per cent voting.

In North Goa, BJP`s sitting member Sripad Naik is pitted against NCP`s Jitendra Deshprabhu.
