UK : Sunil D'Cunha to Lead Mangalorean Konkans in Nottingham

Nottingham, (UK), Apr 25: After the successful and grand Easter celebration on 12th April 2009 at Bramcote Hall, Nottingham, “Mangalorean United Konkani Association” (MUKA) members elected a new team of office bearers to lead their four year old organization. The General body meeting discussed the progress of the association and chalked out programmes for the year 2009-10.
The meeting began by invoking God’s blessings. The outgoing president Deepak Alvares addressed the members and thanked for their wholehearted support. He had received a very enthusiastic support from the members and the recent programme attracted more than 140 Mangaloreans. He requested the members to support the new team with their encouragement.
Jeevan Menezes conducted the election of the office bearers and following members were elected as the executive committee for the year 2009-10.

The newly elected president Sunil D'Cunha spoke on the occasion and sought the support from all the members and thanked the outgoing committee which did a stupendous job over the year.
MUKA welcomes all those Mangaloreans living in and around Nottingham to be part of the group. The association strives to build community spirit while leaving in the Diaspora and keep up the Konkani roots in a practical way by organizing various programmes to its members time to time.
