Belagavi, May 30: Higher education minister and prominent JD(S) leader, G T Devegowda, in a rare gesture, said that Modi deservedly won with tremendous support of the people as he has totally dedicated himself to the cause of the nation.

Speaking at the convocation of Rani Chennamma University, he noted that Modi does not have any family interests and he has dedicated his entire life for the sake of the country. Therefore, he always keeps thinking of his country, he added. When explaining to the students about the importance of their parents, he again gave the example of Modi. "People who give respect to others and elders earn respect. I have seen Modi bowing before his aged mother on the media often," he said. He also appreciated Modi's simple lifestyle. "From being a tea vendor, he rose to the position of the Prime Minister. You should follow in his footsteps," he advised the students.

When the media persons asked Devegowda about his frequent references to Modi and questioned him whether he has plans of joining the BJP, Devegowda said that Modi has unity of the country as his life's goal and he strives for the country. He added that in appreciation of his hard work, he had expressed his admiration of the Prime Minister, adding that there is no question of he joining the BJP.

The minister said that 3,800 new lecturers would be recruited soon to government colleges and preference would be given to guest lecturers with over ten years of service. "Steps are being taken to fill 396 vacant posts of principals and there is proposal to increase honorarium of guest lecturers from the current Rs 11,000 to 16,000," he revealed.

On the possibility of BJP poaching on MLAs from the ruling parties, Devegowda said that the Congress and the JD(S) are able to shield themselves from such activities.

The reality comes out naturally as the time passes. No matter how much false story can one plant on one person it shall not sustain on the long run. If Mr. Modi is correct what I feel he is, in few years he will be in hearts of all positive thinking Indians. There will always be some exceptions who cannot exhibit in public but, adore in private and we can ignore the minuscules who are the hardened critics no matter what the ultimate truth is.

And finally there are decimals whose Soul rests across border and have ultimate goal for India will suffer within.
