Bahrain: 'Kudlotsava-09' Month-long Cultural Event Launched

Bahrain, Apr 27: Once again, it’s time for Kudlotsava in Bahrain! And this time, it’s a month long program of talent, fun, frolic culminating in a grand gala mega “Kudlotsava 2009” cultural program. This time it is here with much more spice and variety rocking Bahrain with talent competitions, games, sporting events and cultural programmes over a period of one month commencing Friday, May 8, 2009 with plenty of added attractions under the Mangalore Cultural and Charitable Association banner. Furthermore, the entire Kudlotsava 2009 will be conducted and organized professionally by active participation and involvement from all prominent community personnel of a cross-section of the society from Mangalore residing in Bahrain. There is something for every kind of liking for the Mangalorean cultural, sports and taste buds.
The highlight of the grand finale would be the attendance of VVIPs, film actors, prominent citizens and dance troupes specially arriving Bahrain to grace the various programs to be held at the Delmon International Hotel, Ramada Palace Hotel and the Indian Club premises in different stages of the Kudlotsava 2009 program.
A special dance troupe from the Alva’s Foundation of Mangalore is also anticipated.
In a crisp ceremony chaired by Anand Lobo amid the Association Committee members, Presidents of various Clubs, prominent businessmen and Directors of major Institutions, Kudlotsava 2009 was launched with much fanfare and enthusiasm at the Bahrain Kannada Sangha premises recently Kudlotsava 2009 to the tastes of Mangalorean hinterland is a yearly event, the brainchild of Anand Lobo coined in 2007 with games and cultural programs for participation exclusively by and for Mangalorean talents and fans in a spirit of one program for all Mangalorean communities at large irrespective of caste, creed, and colour.
Naveen Mendonca, Secretary of the Association welcomed the gathering for the launch of Kudlotsava 2009. The Presidents of Bahrain Kannada Sangha, Bunts Association and Guru Seva Samithi addressed the audience congratulating Lobo for yet again embarking with Kudlotsava 2009 with a much broader coverage and larger capacity and paraphernalia typical to the people of Mangalore and its outskirts, wishing the program every success.
Lobo then addressed the gathering giving all the make-up and line-up of all the programs of Kudlotsava 2009 commencing from Friday May 8, 2009, every Weekend upto the grand gala finale on 5th June, 2009.
The title Sponsors for the month-long Kudlotsava-2009 event are Central Café, Bahrain.
Some other co-Sponsors of the program are Bahrain Air, Al Jazira Group of Companies and Damas.
A major part of the profits from the program would be donated to a new School for poor children presently under construction in Bejai, Managalore.
The various talent and sports programs include Drawing Competition for children, Cookery competition for ladies, Kabaddi competition for men, Prince & Princess Contests, Teen King and Teen Queen, Mr. and Miss Mangalore, Boogie Woogie dance competition for children and adults, Ladies Cricket Tournament and Ladies Throwball competition. The competitions are exclusively for the participation of enthusiasts hailing or having their origins from Mangalore and have rules and regulations laid out by the organisers in the entrance forms provided.
All the programs will lead to the Grand Gala Mega Finale Cultural Program to be held at the Delmon International Hotel Poolside commencing at 7.30 pm on May 8, 2009 with folk dances, Bollywood sing-song and will also include Kannada, Tulu and Hindi film dances and songs.
A detailed announcement on the VVIPs who would attend the grand finale and also the final list of Sponsors of the program will be advised through this media in due course from time to time.
The entry to all participants for any of the contests is complimentary and the entry forms are available at all the major Clubs, Hotels and outlets belonging to the Mangalorean Community. The entrance to all programmes of the KUDLOTSAVA-2009 is also complimentary and open to all except that participation is exclusively for those hailing from the Mangalorean and nearby West Coast region who have Kannada, Tulu and Konkani as their mother tongue.
