Panaji, Apr 27: Goa today held repolling on a single booth in North Goa Lok Sabha constituency, which was forced due to technical snag in the electronic voting machine.

The election officials confirmed that a booth in North Goa Parliamentary constituency, which is a part of Sankhalim legislative assembly constituency, witnessed 53.33 per cent voting.

The coastal state went for polling on April 23, during the second phase but the repolling was ordered after election commission of India found that the technical error occurred in the EVM.

In this constituency, BJP’s sitting MP Sripad Naik is pitted against NCP’s Jitendra Deshprabhu which is also having Shiv Sena’s Upendra Gaonkar and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party’s Pandurang Raut vying for the coveted seat.

In all 810 voters were eligible to vote in this booth, which is tucked in Goa’s iron ore rich mining belt.
