Bengaluru: State to get female governor after 24 years?

Bengaluru, Jun 3: It is learnt that the state of Karnataka is going to get a new governor soon in place of Governor Vajubhai Vala, who is holding the position from the past five years. It is said that a woman is going to replace the incumbent governor.

There is a specialty in the nomination of governor this time for the state after 24 years. Three names shortlisted for the probable governor's post of Karnataka and all are women. The names of senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharati and Sumitra Mahajan are making the rounds. It is interesting to know as to who will get the final nod.

It may be recalled, 24 years ago Ramadevi had served as the governor of Karnataka. Now, almost after quarter of a century, it is certain that a lady is going to be the governor of the state.
