Mangalore All Set for Election - Persons Deployed on Polling Duty Take Guard

Mangalore, Apr 29: The election special duty personnel from various departments departed for their respective polling booths of Mangalore Constituency on Wednesday April 29.
As many as 7,500 personnel have been deployed on polling duty in the constituency. All of them have been given training in three phases. Mustering rehearsals have also been done. Even Micro Observers have undergone training. Of 7,500 staff, 5000 staff have been issued election duty certificate which entitles them to cast their franchise in the booth where they are posted.
Nearly 486 micro observers have been deployed in the sensitive polling booths. As many as 133 sectoral officers with extra staff and reserve Electronic Voting Machines have also been deployed. A total of 1,470 polling booths will be covered under SMS-based data collection. As many as 45 polling booths do not have mobile coverage. So data will be collected over phone.
In Dakshina Kannada, nine DySPs, 30 circle inspectors, 150 PSIs, ASIs, 350 head constables, 1,580 police constables, 900 home guards, eight DR and eight KSRP platoons have been deployed for security purpose during the election.
