Sullia, Jun 4: A number of priests and employees of Samputa Narasimhaswamy Math at Kukke have expressed a sense of anger about the attack on their colleague, which happened on Saturday evening inside the Subrahmanya temple office.
Over 50 priests and staff met temple executive officer, Raveendra M H, on Monday June 3 and expressed their displeasure at this development. They reminded the executive officer that the temple is open for public. "Kumar Banninthaya, an employee of the Math, who was in front of the temple tower, was escorted into the temple office and attacked. The temple managing committee has been formed to provide basic facilities and make other arrangements for the convenience of devotees visiting the temple. The members of the committee have behaved like goondas in beating up our Math employee. Steps should be taken against the guilty and such unwanted incidents should not be allowed to take place in this holy temple," they urged.
The executive officer told them that he would discuss the matter with the managing committee and take a suitable decision. He asked them to bring to his notice if they face such situations in future.
In the meantime, Maheshkumar Karikkala, Guruprasad Panja and Prashanh Bhat Manila, who have been accused of attacking Kumar Banninthaya secured bail from the court here on Monday.
