First Ever Casino Royale Faria Gold Cup Football from May 16

Panaji, May 3: Goa’s leading off shore casino operators, Casino Royale, has tied up with state’s emerging football training academy, Faria Sports Management, to host the first ever Casino Royale Faria Gold Cup 2009 in South Goa.
 
The inter club knock out football tournament will have 14 teams including Salgaoncar sports club, Goa velha S C, Sesa Football academy, Goa Police, Velsao Pale SC, Sporting club de Goa, MPT, St Rock SC, Raia SC, Wilred Leisure SC, Faria sports management, Dempo SC and Churchill Brothers participating in it.
 
The tournament will be held between May 16 to May 31 at Cansaulim village in south goa.
 
“This will be an annual affair. The winners will be given Rs one lakh cash and a rolling trophy,” Fransic Faria, promoters of Faria sports management, told reporters on Saturday.
 
He said that the teams participating in the tournament are registered with Goa Football Association and consists of teams from the I league, the professional circuit, first division as well as prominent clubs in Goa.
 
Faria said that the football training academy is backing young and talented football players in the state. “Faria sports management was formed on 18th May last year out of a desire to provide credible support and contribution for the welfare of Goan football,” he said.
 
Arun Kapoor, group CEO, Casino Royale, said that their association with the tournament is a part of their social responsibility. “We are new company in Goa and would like to start with contributing for sports,” he said.
