Barasat/Barackpore (WB), May 07: A non-Congress and non-BJP front led by the CPI(M) will form a government at the Centre after Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said on Wednesday.
"It will be possible for the Third Front led by the CPI(M) to form a government at the Centre after the elections," he told election meetings.
Stating that the Third Front would be pro-poor, Bhattacharjee said there was a need to make the Left Front more powerful.
Speaking for industrialisation, he said that industrial development was necessary in the interests of farmers. "No development is possible without industrialisation. The Tata Motors Nano project was a step in that direction."
Criticising the Sacchar Committee report, he said it failed to mention the state government's work for the minorities.
Bhattacharjee said he had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that there should be a sub-plan for Muslims under the 11th Five Year Plan. "But it was rejected," he said.
