Indian Army Major Arrested in Goa

Panaji, May 12:
Panaji police arrested an Indian army officer for allegedly clicking obscene pictures of a young girl and later blackmailing her to download and circulate them via internet.
 
“Major Tarun Singh (27) currently posted in Srinagar was arrested following complaint by a young girl,” Panaji police inspector Nolasco Raposo said..
 
The Major was down in Goa with his family and was staying in the room next to where this Mumbai-based girl had checked in with her family.
 
The victim has complained that Major clicked obscene video of her while she was taking bath by dislodging window tiles. He later telephoned the girl via intercom and asked to meet her in his room.
 
“He also sent another note in her room asking her to meet him in the room. The complainant said that he threatened to download the clips and circulate via internet, if she does not come in the room,” Raposo said.
 
Police said that they have even recovered the mobile and laptop where the clips were downloaded. “He is yet to disclose the exact regiment to which he belongs,” police added.
 
“We have informed the Indian Army officials about the arrest and the accused is being interrogated,” he said.
