DUBAI, May 12: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya-led Kingfisher Airlines will start flying daily from India's technology hub Bangalore to Dubai from June 25. 

The flight, using an A320 aircraft, will take off from Bangalore at 6.30 pm and land in Dubai at 8.55 pm local time while the return flight will leave Dubai at 11.30pm and reach Bangalore at 4.45 am, the airline's officials told the media during the Arabian Travel Market held recently here.

The launch was planned for March but had to be delayed because of the global economic slowdown, officials said, adding Kingfisher also plans to start flights to Abu Dhabi and a couple of other destinations in the Gulf region.

The airline has expanded its route network significantly since acquiring Air Deccan in 2007. Kingfisher has 87 aircraft in its fleet and has 438 flights daily to 72 destinations in India and abroad. It operates 27 direct flights to Indian destinations from Bangalore.

Indian carriers have added several services between India and the UAE this year. Jet Airways last month launched daily direct services between Chennai and Dubai and also increased frequency on the Dubai-Mumbai route. Air India Express launched Tiruchirapally and Chennai routes from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

    All you stupid people. You think Dr. Mallya does not know that the Mangalore sector is lucrative? It is Air India Express who is not giving permission to any other Airline. Go and ask the Indian Aviation guys and not Dr Mallya. There are a lot of buget airlines such as Air Arabia, Jazeera, etc waiting to touch down at Mangalore.

    Dear Mallya Maaam, Great news!Kudos!! Finally we got what we wanted!!! We have the pleasure and honour of flying India''S Five Star Airline now!!! (Hope I have''nt erred in grading KingFisher as India''s Five Star Airline!!!!..)Jai Ho!!!Good Luck in serving the people of your/our Home country/hometown.... It brings back me my memories of the first journey by King Fisher Flight I took from Bombay to Mangalore some time back(with comparison to the experience with other airlines including our national carrier)....I got a booking through one of cousin (working as a utive secretary to the VP at Mumbai HO)..Probably (I suppose)my cousin must have put a word to the staff that I have a low back pain problem....To my surprise when flight landed at M''lore airport a uniformed officer came in search of me inside the carrier anouncing my name and escorted me to a seperate vehicle (4wheeler) and took me to the lounge!!!I was afraid of the security problems and thought I have been grilled for reasons not known to me!!!!After a while one of the other staff brought my luggage and escorted me to the taxi stand and then I came to my sence and really thanked God....Immediately called my cousin and thanked her And told her that I really enjoyed the flight and said I like to be a brand ambassodor for Kingfisher in UAE and also asked her to put a request to the management to start a flight between UAE to BLR/MLR ASAP Needless to say here I really enjoyed the flight and the service and food served too!!!!.... The people who where sick and tired of our so called national carier must have sighed in relief with the introduction of the private carriers like Kingfisher, Jet, Sahara etc...Though we are proud of our national organisations but sick and tired of the service render by them....Whom to blame!?!!! As most of the Remarks/Compliments/Comments, on this happy news of introduction of KF flght between Dubai and Bangalore, suggests that a direct flight to Mangalore is most wanted, me also say the same and suggest that the fight lands at B''lore can be extended to Mangalore and return flight can be originated from Mangalore via Bangalore to Dubai and Abudhabi if possible that may avoid the requiremment of a additional aircraft!!!(DXB/AUH/BLR/IX and visa-versa)...     Kingfisher is expanding their wings to all over the world especially Gulf countries. I request Mr. Mallya why not look into the route Jeddah-Mangalore or Jeddah-Bangalore-Mangalore at least once-twice/week as most of the Mangalore, Kasaragod area passengers eagarly waiting for this route.

    When Mr. Mallya started Bombay Mangalore flights, I was one of the passenger present in the first flight along with Mr. Mallya himself, a couple of years ago. I personally like the service and professional attitude of KF airline staff. Hence our loyalty grew stronger to this Airline. After flying in and out of Mumbai several times in these two years, we realized that Mr. Mallya one day cancelled the Bombay Mangalore direct flight and even the timings were changed, causing inconvenience to a lot of Gulf passengers who are arriving in the early hours of mornings at Mumbai Airport had to switch KF to other airlines. I too switched on to Jet Airways, who are equally good compared to KF. Mr. Mallya gave a big talk on the first day of the flight, his intention in serving the people of Mangalore as he himself hails from Mangalore. Looks like he has back tracked on his vision and the statements that he made on that day. I have flown AIE few times in the recent months, and found the flight to be almost full capacity with passengers. Instead of adding new routes, and serving routes with scarce passenger strength, Mallya should eye on this lucrative route Dubai Mangalore sector and I am sure he will not ever regret his decision. I am aware that Mr. Mallyas business acumen which cannot be compared to mine, but if you are little sensible in thinking the most lucrative route in his whole network, I guess the Dubai Mangalore sector has a lot of potential and fetch him the desired revenue that he is looking for so that his loss making airline can withstand the Global downturn. This will also help AIE to improve their fares and service to its customers.

    If Kingfisher wants to make good business in aviation industry, it should look into Middle East passengers especially from Saudi Arabia and UAE because of large numbers of Mangalorean’s are residing in these two countries. Direct flight from Jeddah- Mangalore, Riyadh – Mangalore and Abu-Dhabi Mangalore will bring more passengers not only from Mangalore even from Kerala also.

    Its a nice move. All the very best wishes to Kingfisher Airlines. However, this service seem to be of no benefit to Mangalore because there is no connection to Mangalore from Bangalore. Mr. Mallya can please start Dubai-Mangalore or Bangalore Mangalore service. This will bring down harassment by AIE to some extent if other airlines will start operation in this route.
