Udupi, Jun 21: In a complaint filed in the cyber crime police station here on Wednesday June 19, a person has alleged that a fake Facebook account has been created in his name by someone through which obscene messages have been posted. The complainant said that this has been done with the specific intention of defaming him and sully his image.

The complainant happens to be Prakash Shetty from Kota, who is a popular comic theatre artiste and a driver by profession, who is adept at using colloquial "Kundagannada' for entertaining the audiences.

Shetty has claimed that unknown persons have created his Facebook ID by even using his cell phone number and sent friend request. Those who accepted friend requests used to get ugly content. Prakash Shetty did not have information about this foul play for sometime as he never used anything other than keypad and mobile phone. He filed the above complaint after coming to know through acquaintances that his name was being misused.

He said that those who created the Facebook have unnecessarily sullied his image. The local vehicle drivers have urged the police to find out the culprits behind this mischief and arrest them. Failing compliance, they have warned of organizing protests.
