Beltangady: Minister Krishna Palemar Inaugurates Decennial Celebrations of 'Vimukti'

The state administration will award Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 each to those students of belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes,(SC/ST) who have bagged first and second places, respectively in the recently held SSLC examination, said Dakshina Kannada (DK) district in charge minister Krishna J Palemar. 
 
Palemar was speaking at the inaugural of the decennial celebrations of 'Vimukti', organized by Vimukti Charitable Trust and Vimukti Women's Self-HelpGroups (SHGs), at Sri Janardan temple, Ujire, near here on Wednesday May 13.



SHGs are realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of prosperity by empowering the rural women.  The state administration will support SHGs as it contributes for rural development, minister Palemar said. 
 
Meanwhile, he advised the SHGs members, to ensure that politics and corruption are not allowed to gain foothold in their affairs.
 
The programme was presided by Karnataka Capuchin Provincial Fr Vincent Furtado.
 
MLA Vasant Bangera, Hyderabad CCF programme co-ordinator B P Gangadarswamy, Mangalore Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work director Sr Evelyn Bennys, Mangalore Abivruddi Praja Vedike joint convener Vidya Dinakar and Bankal Vimukti SHG president Saroja were present at the dais.
 
Manjula welcomed the gathering.  Fr Vinod Mascarenhas proposed vote of thanks.  Molly Vaz read the report.
 
SHG members Shanti Hakare of Chikkody and Christine of Ujire shared their experiences.  Jyoti proposed vote of thanks.  Anuradha and Jacinta Tauro compered the programme.
