Bangalore: Dhananjay gets Reward: Posted as State's Special Representative at New Delhi

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, May 22: State BJP spokesman and former Mangalore MP, 57-year old Dhananjay Kumar has been appointed as the new special representative of the state government at New Delhi. Dhananjay, who remained in the sidelines for some time before emerging as the BJP's state's spokesperson in which capacity he did a commendable job, has been aptly rewarded with this posting. Official notification in this connection is expected to be issued within a day or two.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa chose Dhananjay in place of retired police officer Subhash Bharani, who presently holds the post.

Dhananjay is backed by the experience of being a four-time MP from Mangalore and has worked as the minister in the department of tourism and aviation in the BJP-led government in 1996. In the year 1999, he was minister of state in the finance ministry. For some time, he was also in charge of textile ministry.

As special representative of the government, Kumar will have to function as a coordinator between the state and central governments. This is a post of cabinet rank.

Dhananjay Kumar, who had worked as the president of the BJP state Yuva Morcha in 1982, was the Dakshina Kannada unit president of the BJP between 1986 and 1990. In the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections, he had deftly handled the media section of the party.

Mr.M.M.Alva, The people of mangalore had elected Dhananjay kumar and then sadanand gowda to represent them and they should be held responsible for the railway mess. Oscar, moily and janardhan poojary were congress party functionaries who were not elected by the people but rather by the party for the posts they held. Why should they be obliged to the people?.

Congrats Danjay kumar. I thought you very weak politician and can''t talk in public. But in your renewed avatar in last one year I am seeing you are appearing in TV and has developed as a good talker in front of whom now nobody can stand. Well done BJP. Keep it up. You are encouraging a corrupt leader who emassed wealth for 10 years for NOT raising the question of Hassan-Mangalore conversion in the Parliament from 1989 to 1999. Many bus operators poured money in to his coffers relentlessly. Now he is using that asset building a complex where Mohinivilas stands opposite to Ganapathi High School.

Karnataka People elected Nineteen BJP M.P''s,Six Cong and Three JDS MP''s, Are they not sufficient to plead for our cases? Are they not working for the cause of Karnataka People? Or Dhanjay Kumar''s posting, with cabinet rank is an exclusive gift for him?
