Bidar, Jul 2: In a shocking incident that is reported from the Kanaji village of Bhalki taluk of the district, a young man stabbed and killed his grandmother for refusing to part with her retirement benefits of Rs  6 lac.

This barbaric act was committed by Akash (21) on the morning of Tuesday, July 2.

The deceased woman, grandmother of Akash, is Leelavati (62).

The villagers caught hold of Akash and tied him to a pole. Later they informed the police and handed him over to them.

Leelavati, who was working as an assistant cook in Kanaji BCM hostel had retired some days ago. She had received Rs 6 lac as retirement benefits. Akash, who was eyeing for the money, was harassing his grandmother since some time for the same. Leelavati, who refused to entertain the demand of her grandson, was killed on the morning of Tuesday.

Very pathetic!! By his face only he looks like a big thief /murderer. Very cruel!! Lelavati .. poor lady put her all efforts, worked hard and now retired, must have planned to live happily. Its her hard earned money, why should she give it to others. . Govt. should take stern action against such crime. Hang him publicly.. May the departed soul of Leelavati rest in peace...

@Jossey S.Mumbai, better you leave out community. It is boys character ,instead of taking care of his granny ,earn and give something to her ,he wanted her money and for not giving it ,was ready to kill.Simply cruel person. Not yet grown up.Granny too knowing him could have not told him .But why he wanted money?still it is not a reason to kill own granma.May her soul rest in peace.God knows what she thought of how to use this money.life long worked ,and now had no time to spend it and rest.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.let him now enjoy the heat of his stupid and useless act of killing her.His life is spoiled.

Nowadays we should not tell anyone if we have or get money and we should keep everything secret. This is the norm for our safety.
