Mangalore, May 22: A youth was admitted to a private hospital after he was attacked by miscreants near Kudupadi in Jeppu Bappal.

The youths allegedly attacked him hurling abuses and challenging him with a display of muscle power late on the night of Thursday May 21.

Mohammad Ashraf, the victim, is an NRI who returned home from Jubail in Saudi Arabia three months ago. He was attacked by a group of seven people.

Ashraf, who is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city said, “As I got down from an auto rickshaw, the group suddenly attacked me and pushed me down.  I was returning home from my relative’s shop near State Bank”, he said adding that one of them had a bottle in hand while the others had a rod and other metal implements.”

“One of them hit me with the rod and the others used their hands. Due to this my head had started bleeding and my neck was also hurt”, he added.

Ashraf who lodged a complaint at Pandeswar police station named four of his assailants as Chetan, who has a shop near the apartment where he lives, Sandeep, Deepak, and Nithin. He also informed the police that he would be able to recognize the other three as he has seen them before.

Ashraf said that usually he returns around 1.30 am but on Thursday he was early. He is helping his relative in business. He also said that the gang is involved in creating nuisance in the area and are involved in other criminal cases.

He alleged that the same group had attacked his brother last year. Pandeswar police are investigating the case.

Central Govt. Home Ministry should see to it that such incidents are investigated till the root of such trouble is plugged. In Pandeshwar Police Station there are few mischief elements affiliated to RSS, in uniform & they will not let the investigation go anywhere.

Attentions to all Congress activists, these incidents are happening to the minorities who have opposed the BJPs in the last LS election. They should find out the RSS godfather behind many of such incidents particularly on Muslims.

Foul play by antisocial elements is not uncommon at late hours in most cities in India. It is heard that these elements have the blessings of different political parties because they need them mutually. many people do not go out at late hours. Many people enjoy the safety of indoors of their house.

This seems to be a total failure on the part of enforcement agencies, criminals are having a free run all over the state and are getting indirect support from the Police, these goondas have become fearless as they are being nurtured by the present government. I am sure the parents who gave birth to such criminals must be hiding their head in shame.
