Dubai: Jet Airways Planning Four New Routes Including Mangalore

Media Release

Dubai, May 24: India's largest private carrier Jet Airways is planning to launch four new routes from Dubai in the next three months, a senior executive has announced.

Jet Airways launched operations to the UAE last year with daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi in April, followed by Dubai in August and is now eyeing more services.

"From Dubai, we are planning to launch flights to four more Indian destinations – Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore," said Abraham Joseph, senior general manager for Jet Airways Middle East and North Africa, in comments published by Emirates Business on Sunday.

"Talks are in process and we should be able to launch these routes in the next two to three months," he told the paper.

The Indian carrier currently operates daily non-stop flights to Delhi and Mumbai from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Last month it included Chennai to its route network from Dubai and added one more frequency to Mumbai again from Dubai.

Plans are also afoot to launch daily services from Mumbai each to Jeddah and Riyadh starting June 14.

Asked if the airline was planning any further cuts in airfares this year, Joseph said: "Airfares are already quite low. I do not think we would be able to reduce it any further than what we already have."

Beginning of the end for AI Express. Despite being launched as an economic version of Air India, they are ripping off people and are more expensive than a lot other airlines flying out of the Gulf. AIE, time for you to rethink your policies and fares.

Its good news. Please break the monopoly of AIE on this route who are money hungry and looting the passengers. I hope competition would result in price efficiency and good service. The passenger must be benefitted. All the best and do give us the good news at your earliest.

Last week I used Jetairways Kuwait to Mangalore via Mumbai, It was excellent flight, service with a smile from crew AirIndiaexpress thinks that they are doing favour to us, eventhough we have to wait 4 to 5 hours in Mumbai to catch Mangalore flight, but still I prefer to use Jet than A.express. I request Jetairways to start Kuwait to Mangalore direct flight.
