Pilot dies after fighter jet crashed in Thailand

Bangkok, Jul 11 (IANS): A pilot was killed and another injured after a fighter jet crashed in Thailand's Chiang Mai province, according to the Thai air force on Thursday.

Air force spokesman said the plane with two pilots on board crashed during a training session, reported Xinhua news agency.

According to the spokesman, the Aero-L39 Albatros training jet was based in Chiang Mai's 411 Air Squadron base.

The plane's engine malfunctioned when the accident happened.
