Mangalore, May 29: A gang of miscreants assaulted a businessman from the city named Chetan with lethal weapons. The incident occurred near Marnamikatte Junction in the city within the limits of Pandeshwar police station on the night of Thursday May 28. Chetan, who sustained critical injuries in the assault, breathed his last later in a local hospital.

Reportedly, Chetan was on his way home, after closing his shop at night, when a gang chased him and escaped after launching an attack with sharp weapons. The scene of assault points to the possibility that the assaulters wanted to kill him, not just threaten or injure him. He was shifted to a private hospital in a serious condition.

Immediately after the assault, a huge crowd gathered at the spot and the situation turned tense. Pandeshwar policemen, who rushed to the spot, took charge of the situation and controlled the mob.

Later, post mortem of the body was conducted at the district Wenlock Hospital.

This kind of violence is a new trend in Mangalore. It is mainly due to the lethargy of the police and administration. mangalore has become a haven for miscreants and goondas who are being nurtured by the politicans and police. Let the citizens rise before anarchy sets in.

I just read the link provided by Santosh, India that clearly states that Chetan was involved in the attack of Ashraf. It is very likely that Chetan''s death was a retaliation to that incident. Again, this is a case of negligence and ignorance of the police to react when the first assault took place. Had the Police been stern enough and warned all those involved nobody would have dared to take laws in one''s own hands. No matter how frivolous a complaint may appear it is the duty of the Police to take suitable action.

Fundamental Muslims or Hindus will never create such mischief in the society. As no religion teaches to fight back or kill other unless threatened to an extent of his own existance. It is the blame game of politics and goondas who are fooling us.

Mr. Rajendra''s statement will force some fascists or frustrated youngsters or the victims of communal violence who are on edge, to commit crime. Mr. Rajendra, your loose statement will make our society a different & difficult place to live in. Mind your statement which is disturbing to the educated Muslims in our society.

This Message is to rajendra. This is certainly not a sign of growing fundamentalism of Muslims but a sign of Growing Communal hatred towards Muslims by the supporters of sangh parivar. No doubt the sangh manifesto to crush muslims will never take place since it is impossible to do that because of the bad image of the sangh parivar as a terrorist organization. Look at Narendra Modi now he is acting very innocent like a cat knowing nothing about the genocide he created in Gujrath in 2002. Look at Advani now, to become PM and to get votes he has become very secular these days. The Sangh parivar should realise that in order to get power they need the support of all the sections of the society. The illegal activities of the sangh parivar will never get them the long term results as the elctions this time has taught them a very big lesson. So Mr rajendra before commenting on anything you have to clean up your own sangh parivar identity. You should come out clean first. The history of sangh parivar is a evidence which people can judge. Now people of india have voted you out and you want to create new sense in the society with your conspiracy theories which the people will know sooner or later. You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time. But you cannot fool all the people all the time.
