Mangalore: Roshni Nilaya Steps Into Golden Jubilee Year

Mangalore, May 31: The golden jubilee year was inaugurated at the Institute of Social Service, Roshini Nilaya, in a special event along with the Eucharistic celebration at Valencia Church.
The daughters of the heart of Mary (DHM) joined at St Vincent Ferrer Church for the holy mass as part of the Eucharistic celebration. The inauguration of the golden jubilee year was done with the unveiling of the institute crest by Noemia D’Souza, the president of the institute of social service, at the auditorium of the institute.
Dr Olinda Pereira, one of the pioneers of Roshini Nilaya, in her inaugural address said, “Roshini Nilaya has continued its service to society by experiencing the problems in the society around. It has turned its failures into steps to success. This has helped us walk into the golden jubilee year”, she said.
Sandra Cutinho and Priya D’Souza, students of MSW, presented the 49 years of Roshini Nilaya’s journey.
An exhibition based on the milestones of the institute and its pioneers, was also held on the occasion.
Dr Philomina D’Souza, provincial of the institute, welcomed all. Principal of the institute Dr Jacinta D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
