Bengaluru: Seats for rebels - Yediyurappa may not have full-fledged ministry

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 29: Even as the BJP is busy with ensuring that it will win the trust vote on July 29, hectic discussions backed by permutations and combinations on who should be inducted into the ministry have been going on. It is said that the BJP has decided to leave some ministries unfilled so that they can be offered to dissident legislators if they win court cases and become legislators again.

There is however, immense pressure to induct certain BJP leaders into the ministry is building up within the party. Some others may be accommodated in boards and corporations. Former ministers, R Ashok, Aravind Limbavali, S R Suresh Kumar, and Dr Ashwath Narayana may have to be made ministers. There are leaders like K S Eshwarappa, Sriramulu, Basavaraj Bommai, Umesh Katti, Halady Srinivasa Shetty, Raghupati Bhat, Sunil Kumar and C T Ravi who also are eager to become ministers.

A couple of legislative council members may also have to be accommodated in the cabinet, with Kota Srinivas Poojary standing a good chance. It is said that BJP plans to fill 20 to 25 vacancies out of 34 now, and wait for the court verdict before filling other seats.

There is demand, in tune with the thinking of the national leadership of the party, to infuse young blood when inducting ministers. Out of 19 MLAs in three coastal districts, 16 are from the BJP. Moreover, Yallapur MLA, Shivaram Hebbar, has been disqualified because of rebellion.

For the last 14 month's we had full fledged corrupt ministry, which has done nothing but fought for power in Karnataka. What is there in politics that people are so hungry for power, considering the minister should be corrupt free and honest Samaj Sevek wihtout any kick backs. Does it mean that everyone is power hungry to loot public money, at the cost of normal public? Shame on this corrupt practice.
