Mangaluru: Elias Sanctis elected president of Rachana

Mangaluru, Jul 29: Rachana, The Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry held its AGM at the Bendore Mini Hall on 28th July, 2019.

Silent prayer was offered by members present, for the departed souls of Rachana members. Stany Alvares, the outgoing president of Rachana, thanked all the members for their co-operation during his presidential tenure.

President Stany Alvares said, “I had many plans in my mind but due to personal reasons I could not initiate them. But I am satisfied with whatever I have done during my tenure with the support of all the members. Today, I am handing over my duties to the newly elected president. Hope the new governing body will continue to work towards uniting all the members of Rachana.”

Secretary Anil S Vas read out the annual report. Treasurer Felix J Pinto presented the accounts statement for the year 2018-19. The elections for the governing body for the year 2019-21 was held. The election returning officer, former president of Rachana John B Monteiro conducted the election. Elias Sanctis was elected as president and Nelson Monteiro was elected as the secretary of Rachana for the year 2019-21.

Newly elected president Elias Sacntis, addressed the members and thanked all the members for electing him as the president of Rachana and requested the co-operation, suggestions and support to carry out the his duties during his tenure.

Many of the members shared their opinion in uniting the members and strengthening Rachana in other ways which would benefit all the members. Immediate past president Stany Alvares welcomed the suggestions and assured that the new governing body would discuss all the suggestions and work towards taking Rachana to greater heights.

Newly elected secretary Nelson Monteiro delivered the vote of thanks. Felix J Pinto compered the programme.

The elected members of the governing body for the year 2019-21 are follows:

Joint Secretary - Naveen Canute Lobo

Treasurer - Felix J Pinto
