Sullia, Jul 30: Police personnel attached to Subramanya station who found that cows were illegally being transported in a violent way inside a car, succeeded in arresting two persons. The arrests were made near Nadugallu on Sunday July 28 night. The arrested persons happen to be Fayaz (27) and a minor.

It may be recalled that a car carrying cattle had met with an accident at Mundaje in Beltangady taluk a few days back.

The police said that the hooves of the three cows had been bound together and they were heaped in a violent manner inside the car. The car was moving by Kollamogru and Nadugallu route when the police intercepted the car near Shettiadka. A motorbike was also accompanying the vehicle by way of providing protective cover and giving hint about undue development. There were three persons inside the car and one person was riding the motorbike.

When the accused tried to flee with their vehicle, the police chased and apprehended them. Out of the accused, two succeeded in running away. Those who ran away from the spot were Ramakrishna from Madappady village, and Farooq from Kalara, Kadaba. The police have taken into custody the three cows and the car used to transport them.

The accused reportedly informed the police that the cows were being taken to a slaughterhouse located at Kalara.

The confiscated cows were tethered in the compound of Subramanya police station. On Monday, Subramanya Math provided fodder to the cows.

Earlier cow trafficking in Trucks, tempo's etc. Now started in cars also, and in future these culprits will use choppers or cycles. Govt should open legalized butcheries every possible places and beef should be available all the time and there should not be any reason to torture cows like this.

Where is that organization who promised will stop such activities in near future. Police Commissioner assured will take stern action in this matter but in vain. By doing parade as done by models during fashion show won't work much in regard to cattle traffickers or drug peddlers. How compensation will get to poor people from where in cattles are stolen...who themselves depended on it the most for livlihood. Bharat jawaab chahta hai..
