Kadaba: Man collapses on day of retirement and birthday, dies

Kadaba, Aug 4: In a rare incident a person collapsed on the day of his retirement from service, which happened to be his birthday also and died later in the hospital.

Muttappa Gowda (60), a resident of Koila, who was the assistant station officer of Kumta fire service station of Uttara Kannada district, is the person who died.

Muttappa Gowda got retired on July 31. Incidentally that was his birthday also. He collapsed during the farewell cum birthday celebration function that was held at the office of Kumta fire service squad. He was admitted to the Manipal hospital immediately. He died on August 3 after being in the hospital for three days.

Muttappa's brother Neelaiah also serves in the fire service department.

Muttappa is survived by wife and two sons.

    Very sad indeed. RIP Muttappa. God has different plans for him. His ways are wonderful. He will enjoy heavenly bliss away from earthly sorrows especially had he lived a long life.

    Very sad.Poor chap may be was too excited with all praises and the days to come to enjoy,,must have made his heart too weak further to work.Or was long sick that anyone knew?Heartfelt sympathy to his family.may his soul rest in peace in Heaven..who knows what plans he had.Now everything went in vain.

    A very sad incident indeed.
    Everyone looks forward to a life of peace and happiness after his or her retirement, Sadly this was not in Mr. Mutthappa's destiny. Maybe after years of serving in the organisation he simply could'nt take the joy of putting up his feet up and relaxing!
    May his soul rest in eternal peace.

    He died 3 days later. Not on his birthday and the day of his retirement.
