Scrapping Article 370 will be 'catastrophic', says Mehbooba

Srinagar, Aug 5 (IANS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti on Monday described the Modi government's decision to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution as "the darkest day in Indian democracy".

"Decision of J&K leadership to reject 2 nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of GOI to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K," the former Chief Minister tweeted.

"It will have catastrophic consequences for the subcontinent. GOI's intentions are clear. They want the territory of J&K by terrorising its people. India has failed Kashmir in keeping its promises," she said.

It will be catastrophic for her political ambitions. Time Kashmir becomes an integral part of India. You cant have two set of rules for different states in India, I am sure India will progress under Modis rule

    Well Done !
Now reserve the residential plots all over J&K exclusively to the defense forces of India. This will put an end to all problems.

Only catastrophic for her and other terrorists like her.
They don't want to solve the Kashmir problem because that will affect her livelihood.

Exactly how the Indian Government's current decisions on Kashmir will pan out is unknown at the moment.

Agree, the Pakistanis have no money to spare to cause much trouble.

Agree too that Trump wants countries to sort any issues by themselves. He is not concerned.

But, the Kashmir matter is a little complex - in the sense that there is an 'international' agreement in place between Kashmir and India.

As such, Kashmiris might take the matter to the international courts/UN...

...and that might cause some discomfort to India with its international standing.

What 'catastrophic' is this lady talking about? Mehbooba, Mufti, Abdullahas, Huriyatts and other separtists did not utter a word when500,000 Kashmiri Pandits were driven away, raped and killed in the valley. Congress who was ruling looked the others side fearing their vote banks would be dented.
