Why we always jump in to conclusions on the negative side? 12 hours late..They are safe at home. Thank God... what if ...............? God bless that pilot. Even a responsible taxi driver takes some rest when he feels tired on a long journey.

I am surprised at some ignorant comments being made here on pilot. Those who know this sector, pilots fly IXE-DXB-IXE rotation. That is, same pilot flies to and fro segments. In addition, this is night time flying during circadian cycle so duty hours are strictly monitored and enforced by DGCA. Pilots get fired for breaching these rules.

Also think about it - those saying pilot should’ve flown Coimbatore to Mangalore, do you really want a sleep deprived pilot for your flight, especially tricky runway of IXE during monsoon? And another crash landing like the another sleep deprived Serbian pilot caused?

Hope the passengers know their rights. They can claim compensation from Air India for the delay and the other challenges they faced.

Irresponsible Pilot, he is getting salary only due to the Passengers flying by this carrier due to non availability of other private airlines.
Show humanity first then talk about duty hours.
Because of your negligence how many people have been disturbed you know...
Passengers & their family members, connecting flights, trains, buses ,crew members, Taxi drivers, Hotel bookings other staff waitng at the Airport etc...etc...etc...etc ..
    anxious moments.
Mistake of One pilot reflected on Many people,he is not a kind, ethical pilot at all. Not worth to be a pilot.
I request the government to start training to the poor to become pilots, we have too much population but shortage of pilots, how come?
Train youngesters from rural areas to become pilots for Low salary. India should be Pilot surplus country.
People waiting in the Flight for hours for a pilot is utter nonsense.

The number of hours a pilot can be on duty is regulated by Govts the world over. This is for the safety of the passengers. It is not the Pilot's fault that Mangaluru does not have the proper instrumentation to land safely in inclement weather. keep in mind that the Pilot also was inconvenienced by not being in his home city.. Better to be safe than have an accident.

No matter, who the Prime Minister is, no matter what development activities they bring, no matter what schemes they put in place for the development of our country, as long as there is no accountability from the people who should be implementing it, dont take it seriously, our country will always be known as a developing country. We will never become a developed country. The problem with most of the govt servants is that they are laid back. They forget that they sit on a very important role of implementing govt schemes, bringing them to the people. But alas, in our country rules are different, we are lucky to have babus who are doing us a favour and we are supposed to be paying taxes and get kick in our stomachs.

Great. This is what we are. Why national carrier cannot make privatization. Now it is going to be deep inquiry and action will take ? No way... it is our country and there is no such things happening. Common it is OK and many more incidents to come like this..
