Mangalore: Trishma Pinto Elected President of St Agnes College

Mangalore, Jun 20: Trishma Pinto, a multitalented and a new generation leader in the making, a final year B.com student has been elected president of St Agnes College Students Union, Mangalore.
The election for the college union was held on Jun 20, 2009 at the College premises. In a closely contested fight, Trishma won by a narrow margin of only 137 votes, beating her nearest rival Praisy Abraham.
Trishma is the daughter of Valerian Pinto and Winifred Pinto of Belthangady. Right from childhood, she had shown great ability to lead a team . She was also the High school student council leader in the year 2006.

Other noted achievements of Trishma:
- President - Gavel Club at St. Agnes College – 2007
- Vice President - Make A Difference (A Mangalorean youth based NGO that helps teach orphans English and computers)
- Won the following titles: BEST CEO, BEST Advocate, BEST Personality at NATIONAL level
- Member - Toastmasters International (A public speaking organization)
- Won 1st place in events like Hard Sale, Mock Press, Story Writing, Turn Coat Debate, Business Quiz in college
- Participated and won in several quiz, elocution, drama, writing and dance competitions at school & college levels
- Participated in Model United Nations summits at college and school levels
- Actively involved in organizing Agnofest 07 and Comquest 09
- Radio Jockey for a 2 hour Student Based Show on a local radio channel in Dubai
The official inauguration of the newly elected Student Council will be held on July 10, 2009.
Speaking to daijiworld, Trishma said that she wants to concentrate on studies more and balance it with her active extra-curricular activities like acting, public speaking, writing etc.
Born and brought-up in Dubai, Trishma studied until grade 12 in Our Own English High school Dubai. She was also the Student Council President in Grade 12.
