Panaji, Jun 23: The city of Panaji continues to stink as most of the garbage in the city still lies uncollected.

The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) had earlier collected garbage from the fish market due to the worms spreading over the roads.

The health authorities had earlier raised a fear of the city coming under various health threats, after which the corporation had cleared the waste only from the selected areas but most of the city still continues to stink.

The corporation is complaining of having no dumping site for the city garbage as most of the sites are being opposed by the people at large.

The Urban development ministry went on to transfer the present City Commissioner Melvyn Vaz due to the failure of the CCP in disposing the waste.

Former city commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues has replaced Vaz and is very optimistic in solving the garbage issue as early as possible along with the City Mayor Carolina Po.
