Panaji, Jun 23: Goa today sent the samples of two suspected swine flu patients for testing at national institute communicable diseases in Delhi.
 
“The mother-son duo is home quarantined awaiting the report of their swab sample,” Dr Rajendra Tamba, state nodal officer for swine flu, said.
 
He said that 32-year-old son had arrived from US on June two and developed flu-like symptoms after few days.
 
“While son recovered the 50 year old mother got the symptoms and they were referred to Goa medical college,” Dr Tamba said.
 
The goa medical college’s department of medicines recommended that their swab samples be sent for testing.
 
Dr Tamba said that the results are expected within next couple of days.
 
Goa had the first swine flu patient when a local who had traveled to London was tested positive on June 09.
 
He was later discharged after his tests recorded negative after the treatment.
 
Government figures revealed that the health authorities have screened 8,106 passengers at Dabolim airport for swine flu symptoms.
