Mangaluru: Day's workshop on 'Cyber Safety & Consumer Awareness' held

Mangaluru, Aug 29: A one day workshop on 'Cyber Safety & Consumer Awareness' was recently organized by the department of Computer Science & Engineering, Srinivas Engineering College in association with Cyber Peace Foundation, Hyderabad for the benefit of faculty and students of the college.

I L Narasimha Rao, senior project manager, Cyber Peace Foundation, Ranchi inaugurated the programme. In his address he highlighted the opportunities in the area of cyber security and stressed the need to create awareness on frauds and mischief in the online world. He also said that mentoring the youth to adopt smart and safe practices should be top priority.

Janice Verghese, cyber lawyer and trainer, Cyber Peace Foundation, Ranchi was the resource person.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college, in his presidential address urged the students to act and behave responsibly while using the online world.

Dr Shivakumar G S , HOD, CS&E was present on the occasion. The programme was welcomed by Prof Aravind Naik, assistant professor, department of CS&E and Prof Nagaraja Hebbar, associate professor, department of CS&E delivered the vote of thanks. The entire programme was compered by Sowmyashree M and Pushpa Padti.
