Dubai: Mangalorean Boy 'Manu' in International Painting Contest

Dubai, Jun 30: Mangalorean Adrian Terence D'Souza (26) has been selected for international painting competition based on the theme ‘Water’ organized by Beautiful People, an organization established in Holland in 2007 to assist people with special needs. His art work is one among the 37 art works along with that of the work of Krishnan Kasani, a fellow Indian, short-listed for the competition.
Adrian popularly known as ‘Manu’ has been living with his parents, Michael D'Souza and Flavia D'Souza in Dubai since 2001. His painting abilities came to the fore when he attended painting classes at JamJar, thus boosting his self-confidence to a great extent.
Now pursuing the art of painting under some guidance, his works are mostly inspirational with bright colours and loves water. Currently, Adrian works at his parents’ hotel in Bur Dubai in Guest Relations as a trainee for the job of welcoming hotel guests and familiarizing them with the hotel facilities.
Twelve works of art with the most votes will be selected and these artworks will appear on coffee mugs and coffee machines all over the world with the artist's artwork and name inscribed on them. These winners of the Beautiful People ‘Water’ collection will also gain international recognition.
All the 37 art works are displayed on the website, www.voteforbeautifulpeople.com. The Competition on top of the page, whereby Adrain;s painting along with the other 37 artists will be displayed. Click on Adrian’s painting to choose him one among the winners. The vote can be cast only once and it ends on September 1.
The voters can also win some cool prizes such as two business class tickets with KLM to Zurich, Brussels or Amsterdam with an overnight stay at a Moevenpick Hotel and beauty salon vouchers from Pastels Beauty Salon in Dubai.
